Counselling

Counselling sessions by a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC) may be covered by your extended health benefits. Check with your insurance provider today. 

Registered Therapeutic Counsellors can help you improve your sense of well‐being, alleviate feelings of distress and manage various crises in different stages of your life. As regulated health professionals, they help guide and treat your psychological symptoms.

 

The Counselling process will begin with a 90-minute intake session where your counsellor will review the intake and consent forms with you, explore what brought you to counselling, and begin to develop a therapeutic plan tailored to your unique needs and concerns. My journey to counselling has not been a straightforward one—life paths rarely are. There are twists, turns, obstacles, and moments where we feel stuck, unfulfilled, or overwhelmed by anxiety and depression, asking ourselves questions we struggle to find answers for—What’s the point of it all? Where do I go from here?

For me, that very question—What’s the point? — marked the beginning of a decade-long journey of self-discovery. When I graduated university after 16 years of schooling, I was a product of my conditioning, basing my worth on others' definitions of success. I realized then that much of my distress came from losing touch with who I truly was. There was the person who entered this world full of curiosity and possibility, and then there was the one who put on masks over the years to feel wanted, acceptable, and worthy. This kickstarted my path to reconnect to who I was, deep at my core.

Through travelling and working around the world in a variety of cultural contexts and industries over the last decade, I learned one powerful truth: There is no universal 'right' way to be. That your sense of well-being comes from how aligned your life feels with what genuinely matters to you. Success, happiness, and fulfillment look different for everyone, shaped by our unique experiences, culture, and upbringing.

My mission as a counsellor is to support you in unravelling who you were told to be, so you can uncover who you truly are at your essence. When we live in alignment with our most authentic selves, we move through the world differently.
